Yesterday I
was invited to the 10th anniversary of  HUB footwear.
The brand, as
they self explain: tries to combine
the impulsiveness of urban life and a high standard of style and quality through
design, that night not only revealed their new logo but also launched their new
SS2014 collection AND MdH x HUB shoe
they made  in collaboration with Marije de Haan.

Marije who,
like the HUB brands owners Huub
van Boeckel en Tim Rompa  is a The Hague resident pur sang, explains: ‘I got to know HUB through a show I did
for the Amsterdam Fashion Week. HUB sponsored my show, and in exchange I
designed this shoe for them. In my show there was a lot of black and broken
white. I tried to put these elements in the shoe as well and so it became a black
and white shoe. Also I wanted to give the shoe some sort of dandy feeling, to
use the sportive style of HUB and transform it into something more elegant.’

The shoes
from HUB’s SS2014 line are inspired by the harbor and its interesting textures
and colors, mostly black, white, taupe and baige colors with Rose Gold
detailing. Knowing the inspiration behind the collection it was no surprise
that the event was held in a venue at The Hague harbor right next to HUB’s
headoffice.
It was a festive evening with several drinks,  bites, a fashion show, a photo booth, life
performances and the act of the night ,the always changing but always entertaining
formation Girls Love DJ’s managed to get everybody dancing beyond midnight.
The HUB SS2014 shoeline including their MdH x HUB shoe is available at selected stores throughout Europe. For
